It was wonderful to see Mickey back. I find it both hilarious (like, fucking hilarious) and incredibly heart-warming that he is still waving the DeSantis flag. I guess if Trump presides over an unambiguously disastrous second term Ron might get the 2028 nomination, but Bob is right: the guy is roadkill.
All my leftist and centrist dad commentators are sure that JD Vance is the devil. His eyes tell me that he is intelligent and dishonest, whatever that is worth. He certainly seems to be willing to say what needs to be said to get close to power. My gut feeling is that it was a bad pick though: He doesn't seem to broaden the ticket's base/appeal at all. That Scaramucci bloke thinks Trump and Vance will be at each-other's throats: Intelligence and ambition vs. brooding insecurity and anti-intellectualism (though he is probably just rationalising his own short tenure in the last Trump administration). I did hear that Vance only found out about his selection a few minutes before it was announced, which (if true) is consistent with a fairly hap-hazard/impulsive process.
Anyway, nice surprise to have MK back on. I hope we hear more from him as the campaign unfolds (or denatures).
Solid episode. It was like a reunion concert by a great band -- had genuine emotion, Marx, and even Nonzero merch. Would be interested in hearing their thoughts on Kamala next. I think this might be the only place that's called out Biden for leaning into bashing "Maga Republicans" and not making some kind of gesture toward unity.
This was a fun conversation to witness as usual. Always happy to see a Mickey appearance, he’s my only source of information on Child Tax Credit updates 😄. In all seriousness, the ability to poke fun at the ridiculousness of everything all-around at the moment was much needed. Thanks for the episode
We have an online shop. The website we're using to host it recently underwent some major changes, changing the shop's URL and making it a little more difficult to navigate the products. I may update our products and shop, but in the meantime, you can still find both the black and the white hat options if you browse our merch: https://www.cafepress.com/shop/NZN/products
You guys missed the real core issue here... JD Vance is the first major party nominee since Thomas Dewey to have facial hair. We need your takes on what really matters here.
Bob, I was disappointed that you didn't push back about the Dems and immigration. Biden and the Dems were literally risking alienating the left of the party by trying to pass that border bill that was basically Trump's platform, but Trump killed it so he could campaign on it. That is far from giving up on the issue!
If anything the Dems are tacking too far right on most issues, hence why on some things like Israel the two party leaders are basically overlapping!
It was flying debris not necessarily the teleprompter. Hit four officers around him too. Why do you think Trump isn't allowing his doctors to talk? He's a pathological liar.
"11 Investigates has learned that four Pittsburgh police officers assigned to the former president’s motorcade yesterday suffered minor injuries during the shooting.
The four motorcycle officers were part of Donald Trump’s escort to and from the rally in Butler.
Sources tell Chief Investigator Rick Earle the officers were just feet away from Trump when shots rang out. The four officers suffered minor injuries from flying debris caused by the bullets.
Sources say the officers were hit with either plastic or metal fragments when the bullets struck objects nearby."
Trump's former physician who didn't treat the wound and doesn't even have a valid medical license anymore. Dr Ronnie is a real piece of work. Google him sometime.
I guess he could be lying, but your claim that "it was flying debris" doesn't seem to have much evidence going for it. Sure, some people were struck by debris. But others were struck directly by bullets. And the gunman was aiming at Trump's head... Why do you insist it was debris?
Nobody denies it was an assassination attempt. But debris is far more likely because the injury was so minimal; the report about the four cops shows that. An AR-15 bullet at that close range could do serious damage even if it barely grazed the ear, or even if it didn't touch at all (from the shock wave).
Trump is a pathological liar, but I generally agree with Mickey and Bob here. Even if Trump had been hit by debris from bullet impact, that's close enough to count for danger and Trump was clearly the target, so if was a bona fide assassination attempt. Whether the bullet was off by two inches or 20 doesn't really seem significant to me.

Not listened yet but registering prediction that Mickey is forced to vote trump for a third time due to bidens incapacity.
Welcome back Mickey we missed you

Watching Mickey instruct Bob on Marx is just one of the reasons why I love this dynamic duo. Welcome back Mickey lots of love to you.
I'm grateful Bob has gotten past his detail-free "Harris is awful" stage.

The people were heard! Thanks for doing this boys. Please consider making it a semi-regular thing. You are missed, Mickey.
Now we need Mickey back for the Biden stepping down news!
Where does one get that hat?

Great episode
I had hoped Mickey rode into the sunset gracefully.
Mickey MAGA is back!

Accidentally posted this from the Nonzero account for about half a second:
He's a Trump supporter and possible nut but according to ABC he "appears to be licensed to practice medicine in Florida" and "has a certificate in Emergency Medicine," and he said he was "evaluating and treating his wound daily" for some period of time. His description of the injury sounds pretty specific. https://abcnews.go.com/US/wireStory/trump-campaign-releases-letter-injury-treatment-after-weeks-112130269

The significance is that Trump lied for no reason. As usual. As always.
